Career Awareness Day

Career Awareness Day is where 8th grade students who attend the 6 Middle Schools prepare to meet PIE Business Partners in the classroom. The students will be learning about careers in the Greater Hazleton Area and will pay special attention to the PIE businesses by researching the various companies and viewing the many video streaming company tours available on PIE's website. The students can then consider which of these 4 broad career clusters appeal to them:

•  Arts and Humanities

•  Business and Communication Technology

•  Health and Human Services

•  Engineering and Industrial Technology

After all the studying, the students will culminate their research by having an opportunity to ask questions of the PIE Business Partners when they come to the classroom to explain what it's really like to work for their company.

The Career Pathways Program encourages students to explore their career strengths and select appropriate, meaningful courses to enhance their career goal. Over the past 5 years there has been an average of over 50 PIE Business Partners participate each year.
