Company Profile:	Weatherly Area School District (WASD) is located in Carbon County in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The school district covers approximately 100 square miles. The school district is comprised of Weatherly and East Side Boroughs, and the townships of Kidder (North), Lausanne, Packer, and Lehigh. WASD is approximately 70 miles north of Philadelphia, 30 miles south of Wilkes-Barre, and 10 miles east of Hazleton. The district has one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. A full day kindergarten is operated. Weatherly is a close- knit community where the Weatherly Area PTA, Booster Clubs, Alumni Association, and parent groups all work together with school staff to support and promote a quality education. WASD is proud of its talented staff. The certified staff, consisting of teachers, guidance counselors, and a nurse, numbers approximately 53 individuals. Approximately 50% of the certified staff holds a Master’s degree or a Master’s equivalency issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The non-certified staff of the district consists of approximately 40 employees. District employees provide service for a student body of approximately 800 students for the 2003-04 school year.
